Bartlett Mayor David Parsons joined “Wake Up Memphis” Thursday, giving an update on damage caused by Sunday’s storm and how MLGW is working overtime to restore power to Bartlett neighborhoods.

“We’ve been meeting and talking with [MLGW President] Doug McGowen every morning,” Mayor Parsons told KWAM. “Our priorities have been trying to get our wastewater treatment plants, and our water plants, and the hospital, getting power to those.”

He also mentioned the many large trees that took down power lines, especially along the Summer Ave. corridor.

He shared an encouraging message to Bartlett residents, saying, “their mayor and their city is working hard with [MLGW] to make sure that they’re aware of the needs of the citizens, and where those places need to be taken care of.”

If you need cooling centers and you’re in the Bartlett area, Bartlett Baptist Church and Faith Baptist Church have opened their doors from 10:00 to 7:00 today.

They have refreshments and plenty of water for those of you without electricity.
