‘Historic:’ Paul Young Touts Mayoral Meeting, Says Crime is Down

Over 20 black mayors from across the country gathered in Memphis for the Black Mayors’ Coalition inaugural meeting to discuss the issue of crime that has taken over many major cities.

“History doesn’t always feel like history when you’re sitting in it,” Memphis mayor Paul Young said. “It just feels like another day. But today feels like a historic day.”

Meanwhile, Young himself was nearly a victim of crime Monday night in East Memphis as a man grabbed him and tried to force his way into his car.
