Memphis Criminal to Cops: Send Me to Jail So I Can Bond Out

A criminal in town asked Memphis police to haul him to prison so he could quickly bond out to return to the streets.

Kenneth Winfrey, 28, tried to cash a $5,000 check at a Regions Bank in Midtown Tuesday, according to WREG-TV. 

A banker, who became suspicious of Winfrey’s fraudulent activities, called the police.

When police arrived and began interrogating the suspect, Winfrey told them, “Just take me to jail so I can bond out, I ain’t got time for this.”

Court records reveal Winfrey has become very familiar with the bail system, bonding out three times over the last decade.
