Michael Oher Accuses Tuohys of Making Millions Off ‘Blind Side’ Lie

Former NFL star Michael Oher is accusing the Tuohy family of making up a lie to make millions off his life through the blockbuster “The Blind Side.”

According to an explosive ESPN report, Oher claimed that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy did not adopt him, instead placing him under a conservatorship in 2004.

The 14-page petition filed in Shelby County Monday said the following:

The lie of Michael’s adoption is one upon which Co-Conservators Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy have enriched themselves at the expense of their Ward, the undersigned Michael Oher

Michael Oher discovered this lie to his chagrin and embarrassment in February of 2023, when he learned that the Conservatorship to which he consented on the basis that doing so would make him a member of the Tuohy family, in fact provided him no familial relationship with the Tuohys.

The 2009 Oscar-winning film earned more than $300 million. Oher claimed he received nothing for his story.
