Both candidates had been invited to participate in the fair and balanced debate hosted by Wake Up Memphis host Tim Van Horn and KWAM news anchor Ben Deeter.

Morrison has drawn fire from her fellow Republicans who accused her of being a Republican in name only — a RINO.

They specifically called out her decision to join Democrats to give the Health Department the ability to fine businesses for violating China Virus health directives.

“I don’t think she understands how angry people are about that vote,” Carpenter said during the debate — the debate that Morrison refused to attend.

WHERE IS BRANDON? Jordan Carpenter showed up for the KWAM District 4 Debate. Incumbent Brandon Morrison was a no show.

All of the other Republican commissioners have endorsed Carpenter.

Morrison accused her fellow Republican commissioners of playing politics. She told Van Horn last week that she felt bullied by her Republican colleagues.

KWAM listeners said they were not surprised that Morrison ditched the debate — firing up our Facebook page.

“I just want to know how a self-confessed conservative can support mask mandates,” one listener wrote on Facebook. “I can’t think of anything more on brand for her than just completely blowing this off.”

“Classic,” wrote another. “She’s a no show.”
