Memphis River Parks Partnership (MRPP) signed a new agreement with Mempho to stage a new festival in Tom Lee Park next May – less than 24 hours after the Beale Street Music Festival was cancelled.
Amy Howell, a local who’s participated in MIM’s BBQ cooking contest for over 25 years, blasted the mastermind behind all the changes, Carol Coletta.
“How Carol Coletta has so much power and influence over what’s happening down there with the taxpayers money and it’s our park -Tom Lee Park.” Howell told KWAM Monday.”That Tom Lee Park belongs to the city of Memphis, not her.”
KWAM will be doing a deep dive into the business arrangements and the connections between the Mempho organizers and Memphis River Parks Partnership.
