Minority Leader Karen Camper (D-Memphis) told KWAM Wednesday she’s “never seen anything like” the chaotic special session in Nashville.

Camper, who is running for Memphis mayor, said she doesn’t think the special session called by Gov. Bill Lee (R) has even been worth it and has “set us back.”

With outbursts from State Rep. Justin Pearson (D-TN) on the House floor, he took to social media to call Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton a “white supremacist.”

“His experience is very different than mine with the speaker,” Camper responded to the comments.

When asked if she thought Sexton was a “racist,” she responded, “I don’t.”
