The folks who run the animal shelter in Bartlett would like to have a word with the individuals who abandoned their pet at a dog park. Following is a statement from the Bartlett Animal Shelter — along with video of the alleged suspects.
Please take a look at this video. Pay attention to the dog’s reaction and how panicked he is to see his people driving away. This happened about 8:40 PM on 3/11/23. He was not found in the dog park until the next afternoon. The reasons this is a bad idea:1. During this time several people visited the dog park. Thankfully, they saw him and didn’t just turn their dogs in not knowing there was a dog in there. That could have ended very badly. He seems friendly but someone else’s dog may not be.
2. The last time this happened, the dog that was left behind was not a friendly one and tried to bite 3 different people.
3. This poor dog got himself stuck behind part of the fence. Thank goodness it wasn’t hot.
4. Dogs can get out of the park if they try hard enough. We back up to the river bottom. A very dangerous place after dark for domestic animals.5. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW!!! Yes, we file charges against the people that do this.
