KWAM News Anchor Ben Deeter is coming back to “Wake Up Memphis.”

Deeter has been named co-host of “Wake Up Memphis” alongside Tim Van Horn.

“Our streaming numbers and social media engagement have been off the charts whenever Ben has filled in on Wake Up Memphis,” said Starnes Media Group CEO Dalton Glasscock. “He comes to every show prepared to deliver the news, engage with newsmakers and take calls from listeners.”

Deeter had served as executive producer for Wake Up Memphis until he was named as the radio station’s main news anchor.

“I’m thrilled to be back on Wake Up Memphis. I saw your emails, I heard your phone calls and I missed y’all right back,” Deeter said.

Deeter will continue delivering the news in addition to his new responsibilities on Wake Up Memphis.

“Memphis deserves a voice on the radio they can trust and we believe Ben Deeter is the man for the job,” Glasscock said.

“It’ll be great to get the whole team back together, especially as the midterms are now only 19 days away. We promised you fair and balanced election coverage and KWAM will continue to deliver on that promise,” Deeter said.

Deeter will be back in the anchor chair alongside Van Horn on Thursday morning at 6 a.m.

“It was important for us to make this move in advance of the 2022 midterm elections,” said Glasscock. “Ben has been leading our election coverage and it only makes sense to bring him back to our morning show listeners.”
